The Italian popstar will be awarded for her oustanding career in the Latin music industry and for her humanitarian efforts
The Latin Recording Academy nominated Laura Pausini “Person of the year” 2023. The prestigious award honors artists for their success in the Latin music industry and for their humanitarian efforts.
Laura Pausini (winner of a Grammy Award and four Latin Grammys) will be awarded for her outstanding international career and for her support to causes such as world hunger, violence against women, LGBT+ rights.

“Laura Pausini is among the most talented and beloved artists of her generation. Her commitment to defending equal rights is a model”, said Manuel Abud, CEO of the Latin Recording Academy. “Over three decades of career, her extraordinary voice has been tearing down any barrier of language and genre, creating a special connection with the audience all over the world”.
“I’m honored to receive such an incredible award from the Latin Recording Academy”, said Laura Pausini. I’m grateful to its members, to my colleagues who always supported me, and especially to my beloved fanbase that made my dreams come true and brought me to places that I could have never imagined to reach with my music”.
She continued: “The Spanish language has been giving me a lot of opportunities since a very young age. It made me feel at home, it inspired me to move forward and make music with no barriers. Knowing that I’ll receive such an important award fills me with pride, joy and energy to keep taking strong decisions and inspire new generations of artists”.
The gala
Laura Pausini’s career will be celebrated during a special gala with a tribute concert that will include covers of her songs sung by a number of successful artists. It will take place during the Latin Grammy Week 2023 in Seville, Spain. New details will be announced shortly.
The past editions of the ceremony awarded artists such as Juanes (2019), Marc Anthony (2016), Caetano Veloso (2012), Shakira (2011), Plácido Domingo (2010), Gloria Estefan (2008), Ricky Martin (2006), Carlos Santana (2004), Gilberto Gil (2003).
All proceeds of the event will be donated to charity activities of the Latin Grammy Cultural Foundation.
The humanitarian efforts of Laura Pausini
Over thirty years of career, Laura Pausini used her voice to support humanitarian activities in the fields of LGBT+ rights, women’s rights, world hunger, poverty, climate change.
She received the Starlite Humanitarian Award and the Global Gift Humanitarian Award. She was nominated Person of the Year by Diversity Media Awards for her support to the LGBT+ community.
Laura Pausini wrote and released “Il Mondo Che Vorrei / El Mundo Que Soñé” for UNICEF in 1995. In 2004 she was nominated ambassador by LILA, the Italian association for the fight against AIDS.
In 2014 she was nominated “Goodwill Ambassador” by the World Food Programme. She organized concerts to help populations affected by natural disasters in Chile, Peru, Lebanon and Italy.
